The Lightbrush Diaries

Manchmal muss man einfach mal was Verrücktes machen und aus dem Alltag ausbrechen. Nach einer kurzen Recherche im Internet haben wir kurzentschlossen Urlaub auf Mallorca gebucht.

Das Angebot war aber auch zu verlockend. Ein unschlagbarer Preis und traumhafte Flugzeiten. Abflug war am 25. Oktober um 5.50 Uhr morgens und der Rückflug am 29. Oktober um 20.25 Uhr. Macht ganze fünf Tage Urlaub zum Preis von vier Übernachtungen. Da konnten wir nicht widerstehen.

Mit dem Wetter hatten wir auch sagenhaftes Glück. Obwohl ab Donnerstag Sintflutartige Regenfälle mit Überschwemmungsgefahr angesagt waren schien beinahe den ganzen Tag die Sonne und verwöhnte uns mit Temperaturen um die 24° Grad. Da machte das Fotografieren dann nochmal soviel Spaß. Ich habe dann auch gleich 791 Fotos mitgebracht, die jetzt alle gesichtet und bearbeitet werden wollen. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich ein paar Bilder der Reise zeigen und dabei sicher selber immer wieder ins Träumen geraten. Mallorca ist aber auch eine traumhafte, unendlich abwechslungsreiche Insel. Manchmal mußte ich mich richtig zwingen die Kamera beiseite zu legen, sonst wären wir gar nicht vom Fleck gekommen.

Einen Nachteil hatte unsere spontane Reise aber doch. Weil das Essen im Hotel so gut war, muss ich in den nächsten Tagen ein wenig kürzer treten, damit die Hose nicht mehr so eng sitzt

Sometimes you must to do something crazy and have to breakout of the daily routine. After a short research in the internet we had booked a short trip to Mallorca.

It was an irresistable offer. The price was unbeatable and we had fantastic flight times. We started to Mallorca on Tuesday at 5.50 am and had a flight back on Saturday at 8.25 pm. So we had five full days for the price of four. Easy to understand, that we can´t resist.

We were very lucky with the weather, too. Although the weather report announced rain like Noah´s flood from Thursday on, we had sunshine all over the day with temperatures around of 24° degrees Celsius. So it was a pleasure to photograph. I brought back 791 pictures which now must be selected and processed. For the next days I will show some of my impressions and for sure I will dream again about a fantastic time. Sometimes I had to force my self to lay aside my camera. If not we had not seen very much.

There was only one disadvantage on our journey. The food, they´ve served in the hotel was too good. Now I have to do something so my trousers will fit me again

Strahlendes Weiß und tiefes Schwarz – Hört sich beinahe wie eine Reklame für Waschmittel an.

Dieses Graffiti fand ich auf der Insel Lanzarote an der Uferpromenade in der Haupstadt Arrecife. Die Wand war im strahlenden Sonnenschein so weiß, dass das Licht trotz Sonnenbrille in den Augen weh tat.

Leider verwöhnt uns die Sonne hier in der Heimat nicht mehr mit solchem Glanz. Da bleibt nur die Erinnerung an einen schönen Urlaub und das Träumen von der nächsten Reise.

Übrigens, das ist der 111. Artikel in meinem Blog. Ich finde, das ist ein Grund um mich für alle Besuche und Kommentare zu bedanken.

Bright White and deep black – Sounds like a promotion for a washing powder.

I found this Graffiti on the Island Lanzarote at the waterside promenade in the capital city Arrecife. The wall was so bright in the sunshine that the light hurts my eyes through my sunglasses.

Unfortunately at home the sun don´t shine so bright. So there are only the memories of a fantastic holliday and dreaming about the next journey.

By the way, this is the 111th Article in my blog. In my opinion it´s the right time to say thank you to all the visitors and lots of comments.

Eigentlich wollte ich den verfallenen Holzrahmen mit der verwitterten Farbe und dem rostigen Scharnier fotografieren. Später, bei der Bearbeitung des Fotos fiel mein Blick dann auf das Scharnier.

Es scheint “Help me!” zu rufen und dringend auf einen neuen Anstrich zu warten. Aber das Haus, zu dem der Fensterrahmen gehört war schon so verfallen, dass ich nicht viel Hoffnung auf eine Renovierung habe.

My intention was to make a photograph of the ruinos wooden frame and the weathered colour with the rusty hinge. Later, while working with the picture I had a view to the hinge.

It seems to cry “Help me!” and waits for a new coating. But the house, where the windowframe is a part of is so ruinos, that there is not much place for hope of renovation.
